I am sorry for the absence on here-- I have returned to work full time, and it has been........a transition. I am still trying to breastfeed (pumping during school which has been an interesting journey haha), and I try to get as much work done at school as I can so that I can spend time with Addison when we get home. My mantra these past couple of weeks: quality not quantity. I do feel guilty about leaving her the whole day, but I also love my job. It is such a catch-22-- BUT luckily I will be with my little cutie in 11 short weeks for summer vacation!
I am not sure how frequent I will be able to blog in the next few months (I am CRAZY BUSY!) but I will certainly try keep you all updated on a weekly basis :) You can always check out my Instagram for the day to day shenanigans!
Onto the main part of the post--- Addison is 4 months old!! I honestly can't get enough of this little cutie-- I am totally biased though ;)
Likes
She loves getting her diaper changed, taking a bath, looking at her daddy and falling asleep on her daddy, giving wet and slobbery kisses, spending time in her vibrating swing, and laying on her playmat. She still prefers to be held, and loves to cuddle in the sweetest possible way. She loves to talk and interact with people-- and has the cutest little smile and giggle. She still prefers sucking her thumb (or her hands haha) over a pacifier, but she will take her pacifier at night when we put her to bed.
She absolutely LOVES the classic Disney radio station on Pandora (Score! haha)-- and has even started to "sing" with the songs. She is starting to chew on her teething rings-- but honestly prefers my fingers haha.
While she still isn't a huge fan of tummy time, she is pretty proud of herself when she can roll onto her side :)
She still loves car rides and white noise-- thank goodness!
Dislikes
As expected, she is not a huge fan of us inserting or removing her contact. She has also tried to pull off her patch quite a few times haha.
She has been a stubborn little one the last few weeks with regards to her feedings. She has been on what my mom likes to call a "hunger strike"-- she barely ate any of her bottles while at the babysitter. She would then proceed to eat every hour from the time I brought her home until bedtime. It was exhausting. We also decided to transition her to her crib right around the same time I went back to work ( maybe not the best decision haha). Sleep has been inconsistent for all of us :)
Sleeping
Sleep has been inconsistent. We have transitioned Addison to her crib, and she sleeps about 5-6 hours at a time. No matter if we put her to bed at 9 or 10, she has been falling asleep at 11. We need to figure out a bedtime routine-- maybe read a book? Sing a song? Suggestions?
The past few weeks she has slept a lot while at the babysitters, but I think we are finally getting her on a schedule. I blame myself-- when I was home with her I didn't really schedule her sleep. I just went with the flow-- and thinking back-- I probably should have gotten her on a "flexible" schedule. Ah well-- live and learn :)
Eating
The past few weeks have been tough. I am still breastfeeding her in the morning and at night-- but otherwise she is feeding from bottles throughout the day. It has been a rough couple of weeks-- Addison hasn't fed that well at the babysitters. I ended up buying new bottles-- about five different kinds --to try out. Fingers crossed, it seems like Tommy Tipees are the winner for now haha.
Playing
Addison LOVES to play on the floor. Honestly, all we have to do is put a blanket on the floor and she is a happy girl. She also loves her swing and rock-in-play. We can't wait to get her a bouncer and walker-- I think she is going be a little one who loves to be on the move!
Firsts/ Major Changes
We think she is about 12 pounds (we go to the doctor on Wednesday for her 4 month old check-up)
She has started to roll on her side and is almost pushing herself all the way over
She is really starting to focus well with her contact (finally!)-- although she is in HEAVEN when we take off the patch at night :)
She has really started to "talk" this month-- I have a feeling that once she starts talking she won't stop!
She goes to sleep in her crib now-- this mommy is still sad about that
Started getting 3 parts breastmilk to 1 part formula and is liking it!
I think that's about it for now-- I will keep you all posted on the happenings each week. Time is precious and although I love blogging, spending time with my little one is definitely one of my top priorities right now :)
