Weekending...Long Weekend Edition

Monday, October 12, 2015

Happy Monday everyone :) I am linking up with B Loved Boston and Champagne and Suburbs for Weekending...

{FRIDAY AFTERNOON/NIGHT}
- Friday was a Teacher Workshop Day. Workshop days can sometimes be more exhausting than a normal day with students :) (teachers-- you know what I mean haha)-- and to say I was tired after the one on Friday would be an understatement. We had a lot of meetings, but thankfully I had some down time to organize items for class Tuesday.

Friday night, I ended up meeting up with my mom for dinner (my husband was gone the whole weekend on a hunting trip) at a local cafe called Pressed. The cafe makes all of their sandwiches, wraps, soups, and smoothies fresh and the ingredients they use are top-notch, without being too expensive. After dinner, we stopped by the mall (and met up with my dad who had been stuck at work) to shop around a little bit. I got a few baby items (it is so hard not to buy things for the baby!), and broke down and bought this:

It smells so good! I know it seems weird buying and wearing lotion named Pumpkin Latte-- BUT it smells so good!

I also bought a new hand sanitizer, and yes it might be from their Winter collection (Is it wrong to want to skip past Halloween and just move to the "real" Holiday season???)
FYI-- it smells really good...

I also bought a few organizing bins at Target for the baby room, and I am so glad I did!

Late Friday night, I did some lesson planning, continued to binge-watch Parenthood (my go-to show now haha), and started organizing the baby clothes. Before I knew it it was midnight-- WAYYYY past my bedtime haha. I got so caught up in looking at cute baby items that we got at the Baby Shower-- people are so generous and thoughtful!

I also drank some of this on Friday:

I have no shame.......

{SATURDAY}
Saturday, I cleaned the entire downstairs and both bathrooms, and got started on some baby laundry! I only had a certain amount of time since much of my immediate family was headed to up to Lebanon, NH to see my cousin Kelly who is at one of the top hospitals in the country, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. She is pregnant with her second baby, a boy named Noah, and she was having some complications. She is about 24 weeks, and we need her and baby Noah to hang in there at least until 28 weeks-- preferably we would him to make it until about 33/34 weeks. If you could keep them in your prayers, I would be so grateful. She seemed in really good spirits Saturday, and she is at one of the best medical hospitals in the entire country, so we are so blessed in so many ways. They also have a toddler, William, who was so incredibly good when we saw him. He also didn't mind the company :)

The trip took most of the day, so when I got home Saturday, I finished a few more loads of baby laundry, folded it all, graded a little bit, and then called it a night. Again-- I think it was about 11:30/12 when I actually went to bed (don't ask me how I did it haha).

I also watched a little of this.....

I forgot how much I loved this show! It really can make me laugh like no other :)

{SUNDAY}
Sunday I had to wake up early to help volunteer at the pumpkin festival race held at the high school where I teach. It was a cool, crisp, Fall morning--the perfect day for running (or so I can imagine haha). I love volunteering at this race-- I get to see current students, former students, parents, and other community members.

Once the race was finished, I went to Walmart to pick up a few items--more organizing bins and more mums :)

Once I got home, I went to work on the baby room! I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

The baby room isn't quite done yet-- once it is, I will share more pictures!

The rest of Sunday was spent at my grandparents house watching football. Once I got home, I did some of the normal laundry, made chili for the beginning of the week and once I was done, I went to bed!

{MONDAY}

I had no school today (Columbus Day), and so I worked Pick Your Own Apples for most of the day. It was so busy! It was also really warm-- the sun was so strong! I actually burned a little bit haha.

When I got home from work, I ate dinner and I finally just relaxed! I had a busy weekend, I was tired, and I just wanted to watch tv without really doing anything else. Success :)

Hope you all had a great weekend, even if it wasn't a long weekend for you!

  1. I LOVE the BBW marshmallow pumpkin latte scent! I bought the body spray last year, and I couldn't wait to pull it out again this year. Such a nice fall scent without being too overpowering! Also, Parenthood is one of my absolute favorite shows of all-time. I'm sad I'm finished with it! Such a great show.... Seems like you had a great weekend! Thanks for sharing. :)
