Pregnancy Update......Week 24

Thursday, August 20, 2015

How far along? 24 weeks 5 days

Size of baby: An ear of corn (8.5 in, 1.5 lbs)

Total weight gain: About 15 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Relying on dresses....and cropped leggings...and stretchy, cotton shirts. Basically, I am enjoying my last few days of summer and trying to be as comfortable as possible. I just finished work at the daycare this past Tuesday and I report to school Monday August 24th for meetings and such, so I will have to dress business casual soon. Sadly I do not think that I will be able to wear my pre-pregnancy pants with the belly band I got. I didn't think I had gained any weight in my legs, but alas I did haha. I did end up purchasing a few items at Motherhood--early birthday present from my mom-- and I am really excited about the pieces. They are versatile and EXTREMELY comfortable.

Sleep: I have been sleeping great! I am trying to enjoy it for as long as possible :)

Best moment of the week: I have started to incorporate prenatal yoga into my exercise routine and I love it! It calms me down, it's relaxing, and I can see a difference in my flexibility already. I typically don't do yoga that often, but I am enjoying prenatal yoga.

My husband also had a great moment this week when he was woken up by the movement of the baby! I love that the movement is significant enough that he can feel it :) just makes everything that much more special.

Movement:  Yes! The best part of my day is being able to feel the baby moving all around-- the movement is so much stronger now.

Miss anything: I still miss feeling 100% energetic all of the time. I have the go-go-go mindset, but I have been trying to force myself to slow down. While I am excited to meet Baby M, I don't want to necessarily wish away the days-- I want to enjoy this time in my life.

 Food cravings: Carbs. Just carbs.

Food aversions: Still nothing really!

Symptoms I have: Tingly fingers and toes; I have also been extremely tired lately-- which I am partly contributing to the heat wave we are having.

Gender Predictions: Girl :)

Looking forward to:  Our next appointment in a couple of weeks. We haven't been since we reviewed our ultra-sound, so I am anxious to just make sure that everything is progressing normally!
