Weekending... Is It Really Over?!

Monday, August 24, 2015

Happy Monday everyone :) I am linking up with B Loved Boston and Champagne and Suburbs for Weekending... Today is the first day back for teachers (Freshmen come Wednesday for a half day and the rest of our students start Thursday). I can't believe summer is over! I feel as though it just started. The only consolation? That we are that much closer to meeting our little one! I also can't wait for Fall and cooler weather (specifically less humidity)-- so all in all I will be okay ;)

This weekend was filled with a lot of family time! So let's get started :)

{FRIDAY}
Jim and I took Friday off and headed up to Maine to visit his parents who were staying at his aunt's lake house. Even though the weather was less than ideal, it was an extremely relaxing and peaceful visit. We were able to soak up the few hours of dry weather, and hang out on the deck enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Doesn't it still look so pretty even with all the clouds?!

{SATURDAY}
Saturday after a delicious breakfast (thanks to my father-in-law), we headed to my brother-in-law's house for an end of the summer bbq. I always have a great time seeing my niece and nephews! They are always so much fun to be around, and I can't wait for my little one to meet his/her cousins. I want my kids to be close to their cousins on both sides-- I think that is so important!

Saturday night, Jim and I ended up watching part of the Patriots game (yay for getting that win!) and "watched" "Ex-Machina." Jim watched the whole movie, I on the other hand, watched probably half of it haha. I slept periodically :) Overall, the movie was interesting. The movie definitely makes you think about future technologies and the positives and negatives of those technologies.

{SUNDAY}
After church, I tried working on the baby registry again. We are almost there people-- almost there!
Sunday afternoon we headed to my grandparents house for dinner and dessert.
Sunday night, I subjected my husband to Bachelor in Paradise 2 :) I just don't even know what to say. It is so addicting-- and yet there are moments when I am watching it and I think to myself- why are you doing this to yourself?! Oh well...
We ended the night by watching "Ballers" which is seriously a great show!

I also want to send out a special shout-out to my parents who are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary today! Aren't they so cute?! Side note-- I hope I look as young as they do when I'm their age (not that they are old ;))! After having five daughters, they deserve a prize :) Love you both!

  2. There is nothing like a camp on a lake in Maine! We always stay at one when we go up- no matter the time of year, which gets a little tricky in the winter! - Dorrie @ Rt 1 US 1
