About

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlin, and I am a new blogger! I just recently got married (12/12/14) to an amazing guy Jim (who I love to call James), who makes me laugh every single day. Sometimes I wake up not sure if I living real life-- I mean I get to be married to Jim for the rest of my life?! Shutup-- so crazy. To be honest, I never thought I was going to get married. I had been set-up on so many dates, my dad even forced me to sign up on eHarmony. When I least expected it (isn't that what every person says?!), I met Jim on the site and have never looked back. I have never felt so loved and appreciated as I have with Jim. I am so blessed to have found him, and lucky that he loves and accepts my crazy self! We just bought a house this fall, and are still attempting to organize, decorate, and fix it up. I will try to document every thing that happens (fingers crossed!!!).

My everyday job is teaching-- I teach high school biology and marine biology. Although is hard work, exhausting, and takes up most of my time, I love it (most days!). Many people ask me how I teach high school, and my response is always, I could never teach elementary school! I love how I can have deep and thorough conversations with my students-- especially when discussing bioethic issues such as genetic and DNA testing, environmental issues like global warming, and fad diets/health routines. My students don't just have so much to learn, but they truly do have so much to say, and I love opportunities for them to express their opinions, but also work on their own opinions.

I grew up in New Hampshire, and although I am now a Massachusetts resident (all those who are from NH know what we really call them ;)), my heart will always belong to my hometown. There is nothing like a small New England town, filled with farms, fields, two traffic lights, and almost no franchises (Dunkin Donuts being the exception). I truly hope it stays that way. I have four amazing younger sisters (yes-- five girls-- yes my dad is fine and well taken care of!) who are all talented, funny, sassy, and kind. Although it would be a lie to say that we have ALWAYS gotten along, it is fair to say, that as we have gotten older, we have become so much closer. Although the age range from youngest to oldest is thirteen years, we enjoy each other's company and always end up laughing with each other, and at each other (it pays to have a sense of humor in a house of six girls-- including my mom). My parents have been married for 29 years, and are starting to be "empty nesters"-- well they just have three daughters at home now-- with one just starting high school, one off to college in the fall, and one, well, we aren't sure where she will be by the end of the year haha. My parents are hard-working, supportive, and have set such a solid foundation for my sisters and I-- I truly believe that a solid foundation is so important to have, especially in our world today.

I am new to the blogosphere, but have wanted to start a blog for about a year and a half now. This blog will include just about everything, and as in the title, the blog will be imperfect, and will basically be an outlet for me to think about life out loud.

Thank you for visiting my blog! Leave a comment or post if you have any questions/comments!
