Pregnancy Update-- Week 17

Hello everyone :) Hope you all are having a good week so far, and that your week is short because of the holiday! I can't complain-- I am headed to Maine to celebrate the 4th with my family! 

Well folks, we are now at 17 weeks. Next week, I have the big ultrasound appointment, and I am so excited, but also very nervous! This appointment is big! This ultrasound will provide a complete  body scan from the brain all the way to the baby's precious toes. If we wanted, we could also find out the sex of the baby, but we are not finding out (we are determined haha)! 

How far along? 17 weeks and 4 days

Size of baby: Turnip (5 inches, 5 oz) 

Total weight gain: Still around 5-6 pounds. 

Maternity clothes: This week, I have been able to wear my normal jeans, but they definitely are snug. I tried to find some maternity items at Kohls and Target, but I had zero luck. Other than Old Navy and Motherhood, anyone else have any luck at other stores? 

Sleep: I have been sleeping okay-- not great but not terrible. There are nights when I get up and can't fall back asleep. And then there are nights when I fall asleep immediately and can barely get up after my alarm goes off. 

Best moment of the week: Hearing the heartbeat at my last appointment-- it will never cease to amaze me. 

Movement: Still nothing yet! I still don't know what it's supposed to feel like, but I can't wait! 

Miss anything: Not really missing anything this week! 

Food cravings: Still sweet items-- ice cream is at the very top of the list right now. I honestly can't get enough. It doesn't help that it has been warm outside-- just adds fuel to my cravings! 

Food aversions: Oddly-- pickles this week. I normally love pickles. I loved pickles in my first trimester. This week-- I don't even want any! I ordered fried pickles last night with my sandwich for dinner-- didn't even touch them! I honestly don't know why I ordered them! 

Symptoms I have: Still a little bloated, but otherwise I am feeling pretty good. Tuesday I went on a field trip with the kiddos from the daycare, and I was exhausted that night. I was still tired from it yesterday! That field trip drained me. 

Gender Predictions: I still think it's a girl-- but now most people think I am having a boy. 

Looking forward to: Still patiently impatiently waiting for the baby to move! It's all I can think about :)
