Today I am linking up with Champagne and Suburbs and B Loved Boston for Weekending:
{Friday night}:
My sister Jocelyn is the second youngest in my family, and I cannot believe she is graduating this year. I remember when she was born (I was 10), and now she is about to venture out on her own. She is a cheerleader, and Friday night was her senior night. My parents have had their fair share of senior nights :) but each one is really special in their own way. Jocelyn is one of the smartest people I know, she is also funny, kind, honest to a fault, mature, and fiercely protective. I am sure it is not easy being the fourth daughter out of five, but she carries herself extremely well. I will most certainly miss her next year, but I know that there are great things ahead of her. She is driven (which you need if you are aspiring to be a businesswoman), and I know will accomplish everything and anything she wants to.
My parents and Jocelyn -- I hope I look as young as my parents do when I am their age-- seriously how amazing do they look?!
{Saturday morning}
My favorite meal is breakfast-- there are so many choices and if you have a great breakfast/brunch, it can last you until dinner :). Saturday, Jim, his best friend John, and I went to Parker's Maple Barn, a local breakfast place in NH. They make their own maple syrup there (which is unbelievably amazing), and the food is incredible. What really sells this place is the service-- the owner even came around to thank us for coming out to breakfast. Due to the snow, they have had to close on their biggest day (Sunday) the past three weeks. I, of course, passed along that message to all my family members (who also love Parker's)-- we love to support local, family businesses.

{Saturday}
During the day, I went to my sisters' (Nicole and Jocelyn) cheerleading competition (which was three hours long-- good thing I wouldn't miss it). My sister Elizabeth coaches the team along with her sister-in-law, and I am so proud of all of them. It has been a challenging, but rewarding season. They have another competition coming up in two weeks, and I hope their performance on Saturday gave them the confidence they deserve and need to prepare for the next competition.
{Saturday night}
After the competition, we all braved the snow and went out to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Nothing like a sangria and burritos after being a spectator for three hours ;).
{Sunday}
After church, my family went down to visit my uncle in Boston. He just had heart surgery on Tuesday, and he looks extremely well. We wanted to give him a few days of rest before visiting (we can be an overwhelming bunch), and it was so good to see him! When are all together, we always end up laughing uncontrollably. We are a loud, but loving family and I wouldn't have it any other way :).
After visiting Boston, we went to dinner at my memere's house (French Canadian for grandmother), and watched the Bruins finally win!
{Sunday night}
Jim and I aren't really into watching award shows-- I actually find it really boring and slightly awkward (my family and I are known to close/cover our eyes during any awkward scene in a movie-- we have also been known to fast-forward through such awkward scenes haha). I do love looking at what everyone is wearing, but usually you can find pictures very easily the day after (which is what I am doing now as I am writing this post haha). Jim and I actually wanted to watch an Oscar nominated film, and we ended up renting "The Grand Budapest Hotel." I was a little skeptical at first, but it was actually pretty good and fairly funny ( I was surprised!).
What did you do this weekend? Are you ready for March and spring to come? I sure am! Until tomorrow!
There's nothing like a good local breakfast place! And one that makes maple syrup, YUM!
